Having dedicated her life to social work, Winnie Rose was the first female Probation Officer in Trinidad & Tobago and the first female Chief Probation Officer in the Commonwealth. Miss Rose has been a foundation member of T & T's foremost welfare and service organisations, (The Mental Health Association, Business & Professional Women's Club, POS Soroptimist, to name a few.) and has been honoured by these as well as by the Child Welfare League and The Scout Association, among others. Today, well into her late seventies, Miss Rose continues to give of her time, energy and experience to these organisations in addition to the Sub-Committee of the National Aids Programme, the Anglican Church and Bishop Anstey High School.
